How to find Hesket House, Port Carlisle, Cumbria.

Note that our nearest railway station is Carlisle, not Annan (as the web page accessed via the link indicates).
Annan is in Scotland on the opposite side of the Solway Firth.

Directions to Hesket House from the M6 motorway.
Leave the M6 at junction 43 onto Warwick Road going past Tesco & Carlisle United Football Club.
At lights with a large Church in front, turn right into Victoria Place passing a college.
At lights turn right into Georgian way.
At roundabout at the bottom of the hill, turn left into Castle Way, keeping in the right hand lane.
At the next roundabout take the right hand fork passing the McVities factory on your right, onto Port/Newtown Road.
Pass the Hospital & up slight hill.
When you go down the other side into a dip, look for a phone box at a right turn before going up hill again, signposted for Burgh by Sands & Bowness on Solway.
Turn right here.
Stay on this road without turning off for about 15 miles until you reach Port Carlisle.
Hesket House is the 3rd house after the Hope & Anchor Pub on left opposite a children's play area.

If you approach Port Carlisle from Bowness-on Solway, as the road turns sharply to the right away from the sea, Hesket House is the first house on your right.

The very popular Hadrians Wall National Trail runs along the shore at Port Cralisle.
The end of the trail is a 20 minute stroll away at Bowness-on-Solway.
